I then discovered something interesting.
It turns out the version I was trying to run was not 2.04, but in fact version 2.00a.
How I got that version instead of 2.04 I dont know, but it explains why I could not get it to work.
You will be happy to know that I have installed 2.04 now and it works just as it should.
This should save you some work as well.
Love the plugin so keep up the great work.

Thanks for the update. I had been trying to reproduce your specific error with no luck - version 2.00a explains why line 190 isn't a comment in your version As it happens, I've still got some debugging to do to track down Jakweeze's bug and those new ghost items that are now appearing when transferring items to the vault, but it's good to know this particular bug is no longer an issue.

Guys I am having problems getting AltInventory to run
I have placed the AltInventory folder into TurbinePlugins folder and the AltInventory.plugin file also in the TurbinePlugins folder but I cannot get it to work.
When I do a /plugins refresh I get this: -
Available Plugins:
****AltInventory (2.03c)
****CombatQuickslots (1.1)
****Examples (1.0)
****TheOneBag (1.0)
****Vitals (1.0)
So that must mean I have everything in the correct place right.
However when I try to run it by typing /plugins load AltInventory I get this error: -
Unable to resolve package "GaranStuff.AltInventory.Main".
Unable to load "AltInventory".
Any ideas?

Cancel my last. I was putting them in the wrong folder.
They need to go inside the actual Plugins folder that you create and not in the TurbinePlugins folder.

Thanks for the feedback. With ROI, AltInventory will get it's first update in nearly a year. Unfortunately this will not include pop-up item info - the '/examine' links require item ids that aren't yet available programatically and I don't really want to include a database of all of the known items (there are a LOT and that would cause a significant performance decrease). Hopefully we will someday get a means of obtaining the IDs from an item via Lua.

Thanks for reporting those. I see Turbine still hasn't fixed their ItemCategory enumeration I'll get those added in the next release.

Thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately, I've run into some issues with the equipped items which I haven't gotten around yet. The stats are looking pretty good, especially since we will have access to resistances which are no longer displayed on the Turbine character page. Unfortunately, some of the temporary buffs like Muster Courage are not accounted for, but it'll still be better than having no idea what off-line characters have for stats.

2.04 identifies itself as 2.03c
Not a big deal, but I just noticed that 2.04 identifies itself as 2.03c when first loaded.

I love this plugin, but I have run into an interesting problem.
If I load the plugin and then unload it later, I can repeatedly cause a crash to desktop event on one of my characters by attempting to mount a horse. Maybe a lingering Turbine inventory bug?

All crash to desktop bugs are Turbine issues, this one just has an interesting set of circumstances. My testing has only exposed the already reported lingering bug with "ghost" items in the bags and incorrectly firing event handlers. You should definately file an in-game bug report on this (and any reproducable crashes) with as much detail as possible on how to reproduce the bug. The number of fatal bugs (those that actually crash the client) introduced with the RoI update are disconcerting. I've had to hold off on updates to this and two other plugins because new features were found to cause crashes

I figured as such. I've filed a crash report and will submit a bug report. Unfortunately I have to stop using your wonderful plugin until they can resolve the issue.

Thanks for the feedback. However, this is a known bug in the underlying Turbine Lua environment which does not currently have a workaround (other than not accessing that part of the environment which would make many plugins pointless ). It is helpful if anyone encountering client crashes with specific symptoms files a bug report with Turbine with as much detail as possible about reproducing the crash. The only way we will get a stable Lua envitonment is if Turbine fixes it.
