Chiran - I got it to work using the WAN Songbook Filler you recommend here. So I'll leave the output for you to puzzle over if you want, but there's no rush. Thanks for being so responsive to problems, and for your awesome plugin!

Thanks, I took a quick look at it but it's a bit hard to figure out without knowing the original problem. I guess it's somehow related to client reinstalls and/or using multiple accounts.

Feedback on who else has loaded the song

Hi.
Not sure if someone has suggested this before, and I don't know if this is possible, but I'd absolutely love to see a feature where songbook keeps monitoring the chat system to wait for messages saying that player xyz has loaded song abc instrument flute. (Don't remember the exact message, sorry)

The main issue we tend to have especially in a bigger band is that it takes a while to figure out if everyone is loaded and which instruments are not taken yet.

Yes, I know this will open issues like someone loading a song and then changing their mind and loading a different song, but hopefully there can be some interface solution (like a "reset notification count" button) to help with this.

Otherwise, this is by far the most important plugin for me in LOTRO, so thanks :-)

Oh, not sure if this is a plugin or LOTRO issue, but somethings the M button (to toggle /music mode) stops working...

Yes, this is something that has been suggested before. I think I even started on it, but not sure where it ended up :X. Maybe I could find some time to revisit it.

Good to know. I think this must be Lotro issue. At least the button is just equal to a normal quickslot with a chat command.

Re: Re: Feedback on who else has loaded the song

Wow, thanks for the fast reply!
If you need more description on my feature request (checking how many parts and which instruments of a song were loaded), please do let me know - I'll be glad to help out.

As for the M button, that's the weird thing - after using the M button for a while, it may just suddenly and randomly stop working. Using /music in chat still works, though. If I remember correctly (I haven't used the M button much lately), the M button continues to not work, even after using /music several times. However, the other buttons continue working... It's such a weird thing, and my band members have experienced it, too.
Again, I haven't used the M button much lately because I created a shortcut toolbar with all my instruments and a /music button, so I don't know if the issue still exists... But I have practice tonight, so I can check again then. Anything in particular that I could look for to help figure this one out?
(like unloading/reloading the plugin if the M button malfunctions again)

Great plugin; I'm looking forward to using it. But I can't get it to load. Instead, I'm getting the following error consistently when I try to load:

...gs
Online\Plugins\Chiran\Songbook\SongbookWindow.lua: 133: attempt to perform arithmetic on field 'ToggleLeft' (a nil value)
Unable to load "songbook".

It throws this error regardless of how I populate the song list. Please advise what I can do to get the plugin to load, and thank you.

I'm not quite sure why it doesn't find the setting for ToggleLeft (left coordinate of the plugin button). I would at least suggest unloading the plugin (or doing this outside game) and deleting the settings file. It should be at:
\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData\<lotrouser>\AllServers\SongbookS ettings.plugindata

Then loading the plugin again. Hopefully that might help.

I recently installed Lotro on a new computer, and now I can't get the Songbook hta file to recognize any account. I read in the FAQs that it uses the LauncherUserSettings.xml file to find the account, but I can't locate any such file. I tried using the exe file as well, but it got an unhandled exception error. I could provide the more detailed error report, but I think it's the same issue of being unable to find the game account name. I downloaded Lotro using Steam this time, which I had never done before.

Do you know what I have to do to get Songbook working on this computer?

P.S. Thanks for your amazing work and support for Songbook, it's my #1 plugin to install as soon as I'm able.

I have to say that I don't know if Steam install is different or not. I noticed this thread about the LauncherUserSettings.xml file. It's about a bit different issue but it has some discussion about its location at least. Then there's also this tool that may work better for you.

I'm sorry I don't have a solid answer yet. Are there other Steam users here who could be of assistance?

trouble with multiple accounts

Since making a small handful of alt accounts, Songbook no longer lists any when I try to build a song library - inconvenient, as I have drastically changed my song file collection. Any advice?

Just saw your reply below this. Songbook Filler also does not recognize any user accounts, nor does manually typing in an account name work - it freezes on searching for files.

Did WAN Songbook filler also fail? Also, are you using Steam or old fashioned install? I'm beginning to think that Turbine has changed something regarding launcher. Although, I don't know what since I haven't been able to see this error yet.

Can you find this file on your computer?
c:\Users\<windows user>\AppData\Local\Turbine\The Lord of the Rings Online\Launcher\LauncherUserSettings.xml

Re: Re: trouble with multiple accounts

I did an old-fashioned install, and yes, extensive changes were made to the Launcher in U11 and 11.1.

I will try to determine if WAN Songbook Filler is the same one I have tried which also failed.

EDIT - WAN Songbook Filler is not the one that failed. Moreover, it successfully found all of my accounts. Hooray.

EDIT2 - No, I cannot locate the file you specify, but that may be more a matter of my own personal tech bafflement.

Ok, I figured out the problem. The user names needed are now in a different file in a different location. Since the old file is still there you don't see the problem unless you add new accounts or re-install Windows from scratch. I'll try to come up with a solution soon.

Hi, Elinnea, Travelorn (and any others having a similar problem)

Could you try this newer version for me? It should hopefully get the information from the new file.

If it works for me and you as well, then I'll post a new version with it included.

Thanks,

-Chiran

This one worked for me! It found my account (I have two accounts but only one has logged in on this computer, and only that one was found) and I was able to log into the game and all my music was there. Thanks for the quick turnaround!
